How to Order Custom Soccer Kits for Your Club: Step-by-Step

Custom Football Jersey Design 17 – football jersey mock-up made by Naxon Sports, Sialkot

Ordering new kits is one of the biggest jobs for any club secretary or academy manager. Get it right and the squad looks sharp all season. Get it wrong and you end up with missing sizes, the wrong shade of red and a rushed reorder before the first match. This step-by-step guide covers everything you need to plan a smooth order.

Step 1: Decide what is in the kit

Start with a list of every item you need. A full match kit usually includes:

  • Home jersey, shorts and socks
  • Away or third kit in a contrast colour
  • Goalkeeper kit (two colours, so it never clashes)
  • Training tops or bibs
  • Warm-up jackets or club tracksuits for travel

Ordering home and away kits together usually lowers the price per kit, because the artwork and patterns are shared.

Step 2: Choose your design

You can start from a design in our soccer uniforms range, send a sketch, or describe an idea. With sublimation printing, stripes, gradients and patterns cost no more than a plain shirt, so do not hold back on the design. Things to decide:

  • Main and accent colours (use Pantone codes if your club has official colours)
  • Collar style: crew, V-neck, polo or wrap-over
  • Crest, sponsor and league badge positions
  • Sleeve length: short sleeve for summer, long sleeve for winter or goalkeepers

Step 3: Pick the right fabric

Most match jerseys use 130–160 GSM polyester interlock with mesh panels at the back and sides. It is light, dries fast and holds sublimated colour well. If your kits also double as replica shirts for fans, a slightly heavier, smoother fabric gives a more premium feel. Socks should be knitted with cushioned soles. See our team socks to match your kit colours.

Step 4: Get your sizes right

Sizing causes more problems than anything else in a kit order. To avoid them:

  1. Order a size set first and let players try it on.
  2. Collect sizes on a shared sheet with each player’s name, number and size.
  3. Add two or three spare kits in the most common sizes for new players during the season.
  4. Remember youth, adult and women’s cuts can all be mixed in one order.

Step 5: Names, numbers and sponsors

Check your league’s rules on number size and position before you finalise the design. Sublimated names and numbers are part of the fabric, so they never peel and add no extra colour cost. Heat-pressed numbers are an option for plain shirts. Send sponsor logos as vector files (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) so they print sharply.

Step 6: Approve a mock-up and sample

We send a free digital mock-up, usually within 24 hours. Once approved, a physical sample lets you check fit, colour and print quality. Look at it in daylight, compare colours against your club crest, and wash it once to see how it holds up.

Step 7: Plan your timeline

StageTypical time
Design and mock-up1–3 days
Sample and approval1–2 weeks
Bulk production2–5 weeks
Express shipping3–7 days

Start at least eight weeks before your first match. If you have a fixed deadline, tell us at the start so we can plan production around it.

Budget tips for clubs

  • Order home and away kits in one run to share set-up costs.
  • Use sublimated numbers instead of separate heat-pressed numbers.
  • Combine adult and youth teams in one order to reach better quantity pricing.
  • Sell replica shirts to parents and fans from the same design to help fund the kits.
